Full name is Daniel Mark Nestor...Born in Yugoslavia, then moved in 1976 to Canada with his parents...Fan of Montréal Canadians (NHL) and Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL)...Competed in 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympics...Has a 38-19 career Davis Cup record (23-4 in doubles) in 34 ties since 1992 and holds Canadian records for most wins and most ties played...A gold medalist at 2000 Sydney Olympics (w/Lareau)...Named ATP Doubles Team of Year in 2002 and 2004 (w/Knowles) and 2008 (w/Zimonjic)...In 2003, hosted first Daniel Nestor Celebrity Charity event and since its inception has raised over $600,000 for North York General Hospital and Tennis Canada Go for Gold Fund charities...Wife, Natasha (married July 24, 2005); daughter, Tiana Alexis (born Dec. 15, 2008).

1992 -- Beat No. 1 Edberg in five sets in Davis Cup.

1994 -- Won first title in Bogota (w/Knowles).

1995 -- Reached first Slam doubles final in Australia...Made ATP World Doubles Chp. debut (all w/Knowles).

1996 -- Reached first ATP singles SF in Newport. Qualified an ATP-best seven times. Won four doubles titles.

1997 -- Reached SF in Moscow.

1998 -- With Knowles, finalist at World Doubles Chp., Roland Garros and US Open.

1999 -- Finished in Top 100. Won two doubles titles (w/Lareau).

2000 -- Underwent left shoulder surgery on Jan. 5 and missed first four months. Won four doubles titles with three partners. Won gold medal at Sydney Olympics in doubles (w/Lareau) and also won AMS Toronto, his first ATP title on home soil.

2001-- Won four titles with three partners.

2002 -- Teamed with Knowles to finish as No. 1 with six titles.

2003 -- Won six titles in eight finals. In Davis Cup World Group qualifying, beat No. 17 Kuerten.

2004 -- Finished (w/Knowles) as year-end No. 1. Surpassed 300 wins together.

2005 -- Won four titles to finish No. 4 (w/Knowles). Underwent left wrist surgery on June 17 and was sidelined two months.

2006 -- Captured five titles in 10 finals, finishing at No. 3 (w/ Knowles). Finalist at Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai.

2007 -- Went 4-4 in finals. Won his first Roland Garros title and finished at No. 2 in Stanford ATP Doubles Race (w/Knowles) and No. 3 individually. Reached finals in Sydney, Marseille and Houston and SF at Australian Open, AMS Rome, Doha and Dubai. Also won at Queen's and reached 600 career match wins on home soil in Montreal with 1st RD win. After US Open, teamed with Zimonjic to win St. Petersburg title and reach AMS Paris final. Qualified for Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai and won title (w/Knowles). With Knowles, compiled a career finals record of 40-29 and won at least one title together in 13 of past 14 years.

2008 -- Finished No. 1 in ATP Doubles race and won his first Wimbledon title to complete a career Golden Slam. Playing with Zimonjic for first full season, they won five of eight finals. Had one stretch of six straight finals -- runner-up finish at AMS Rome, title at AMS Hambug (d. Bryans), finalist at Roland Garros (l. to Cuevas-Horna), then titles at Queen's Club (d. Melo-Sa), Wimbledon (d. Bjorkman-Ullyett) and AMS Toronto (d. Bryans). After Wimbledon, overtook No. 1 spot in ATP Doubles Race for nine-week span. Held No. 1 ranking through US Open. Won 17 consecutive matches before losing SF at AMS Cincinnati (l. to Erlich-Ram). Qualified for Tennis Masters Cup and won title (d. Bryans) to clinch No. 1 in ATP Doubles Race (w/Zimonjic) and No. 2 individually.

2009 -- Captured career-best nine titles in 11 finals with Zimonjic, highlighted by repeat at Wimbledon and winning five ATP World Tour Masters 1000 crowns (Monte Carlo, Rome, Madrid, Cincinnati, Paris)…Finished No. 2 in ATP Team Rankings…Had 12-match winning streak on clay with titles in Monte Carlo*, Barcelona and Rome…Also won title in Madrid* and followed with SF at Roland Garros…Saved eight match points in 15-13 Match-TB win over Bryans for Cincinnati title…Went 1-2 in London…Became first Canadian to earn $1 million in a season.

2010

Went 9-2 in doubles play with Zimonjic in January, picking up their 17th team title at Sydney (d. Hutchins-Kerr 63 76) before reaching the Australian Open final (l. to Bryan-Bryan) as second seeds…Dropped one set en route to their fourth team Grand Slam final (vs. Clement-Erlich in QFs)…It was Nestor’s fourth overall final in Melbourne (1-3 record) and 13th major title match overall...On 1 February, regained position at No. 1 in doubles rankings (w/Zimonjic) for first time since 30 November 2009...
